inspiration!

there is a direct correlation between these images from
the Library of Congress and the color palette
I chose for Spring 2011......
poppy reds, deep blue, polka dots, a floral print...
everything about this collection is invoking the vibrant
colors adorning struggling Americans in the midst of the
great depression- make sense?

There are some feminine moments, but also some tomboyish ones,
and much of that comes from My Side of the Mountain,
a book I read in 3rd grade that really stuck with me.
Basically, it is the story of a 13 year old boy who decides to live off the
grid in the Catskills of Upstate New York.
